3rd Shift Supervisor
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
- Train and coach production line employees
- Conduct employee performance reviews
- Manage shift schedules including: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations
- Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels
- Coordinate production start-ups, shut-downs, and change-overs
- Schedule and conduct shift meetings
- Meet shift production goals
- Implement quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications
- Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety
- Communicate with other Shift Supervisors and Plant Manager
- Ensure a clean and safe work area
- Complete shift paper work
- Assist in production as necessary
Additional Duties Include:
- Prioritize set-ups and start-ups for set-up technicians
- Assign operators to presses, as well as assign and give breaks as needed
- Prioritize materials for material handlers
- Enter labor and close out jobs
- Update/Schedule using MATTEC production monitoring system. Edit data if needed to assure accuracy
- Verify timekeeping is accurate for shifts edit if needed
- Approve and schedule vacations
- Generate and post shift daily efficiencies
- Update scrap and press efficiencies daily for previous shifts
- Promote and enforce 5S plant cleanliness program
- Manage skills training for employees. Date, file and schedule operator training requests
- Update and post individual and group training skills after skills have been verified
- Participate in monthly inventory if needed
- Provides Customer Service answers after Production Scheduler's hours are done
- Lead and participate in improvement teams
- Active member of scrap reduction programs
Prerequisites:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- With or without a calculator, must be able to accurately add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers and calculate figures/amounts such as fractions, percentages or ratios. Also must have the ability to apply these mathematical concepts to practical situations
- Ability to write procedures, work instructions as well as routine reports/correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to business partners
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience. Injection molding experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required
